Secretary Han Jun Meets with Irish Agricultural Minister

 

Han Jun, Secretary of the CPC Leadership Group of the MARA, met with Charlie McConalogue, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine of Ireland, in Beijing on Sept. 2. They exchanged views on strengthening agricultural cooperation between China and Ireland. 

Secretary Han noted that, under the strategic guidance of the heads of state of both countries, China-Ireland agricultural cooperation has been progressing positively, yielding significant outcomes. China hopes to work with Ireland to enhance cooperation in areas such as agricultural science and technology, livestock, and exchanges involving young professionals. In addition, Han highlighted the importance of exploring sustainable agricultural development pathways to elevate China-Ireland agricultural cooperation to a new height. 

Minister McConalogue spoke highly of the friendly agricultural relations between Ireland and China, saying that Ireland hopes to foster even closer exchanges with China in agriculture and reiterating Ireland's commitment to taking concrete steps to advance pragmatic agricultural cooperation between the two countries. 

Vice Minister Ma Youxiang and Chief Agronomist Pan Wenbo attended the meeting.
